Third-party analysis of the game
Hi there, friends and foes of democracy!
Two weeks ago, I found a person on Reddit (Sousio) who was offering to examine the potential of any independent game, for free. This is exactly the kind of thing that I am looking for, so I asked him/her to examine my game.
Sousio was super nice and came up with a super objective report within the day. It identified several issues with my UX, and the potential to improve it by adding typical elements of a graphic novel. I agree with 90% of what the report said, and I am really grateful because it made me realize which of the many things I had thought about are the most crucial ones.
I am now thinking that the next big update to the game is to add the graphic novel style of dialogues within a scene. Currently, most of the game events take place in message boxes that have too much text. This was inspired by my favorite game, Crusader Kings, but I guess it is not as engaging.
I may use Dialogic, a recent and popular Godot add-on, to implement this new style. I will also need to make lots of drawings, which is not so easy!
Cheers,
Pedro
